Senior Advocate Vivek Subba Reddy has been elected as the President of the Advocates Association of Bengaluru. The results were declared on late Sunday evening.

Vivek received a total of 4,804 votes while the incumbent President A P Ranganatha received 2894 votes. Out of the total 16,568 votes, a total of 11,131 votes were cast. Advocate TG Ravi won the election for the post of General Secretary and Harish MT was elected for the post of Treasurer.

The Karnataka High Court had directed that the elections to appoint the Managing Committee of Advocates Association of Bengaluru, be conducted by December 22. The same was to be conducted by a seven member High Power Committee(HPC), which has been constituted by the court.

The tenure of the Committee is for a period of three years and the tenure of the present committee ended on January 23, and the election had not been conducted.
