Dhavan reiterates that pleadings and statements filed in the court should not be pre-released to the press before the Court considers them.

Justice B R Gavai asks Dhavan if it is appropriate for a lawyer to give interview or webinar about pending cases.

Dhavan says he agrees with the judge that such comments should not be made when cases are pending.

Justice Mishra says that live reporting of the Court proceedings are often one-sided and in many cases wrong.

Dhavan : I support your lordship's view that a petition cannot go to press before it is filed. I submit that the statement in this case should not have been pre-released.

Justice Mishra : It is very painful to note all this before demitting the office.

Justice Mishra : Don't feel that we have prevented fair criticism from anyone. Everybody is criticizing the Supreme Court. Have we taken any action? The other contempt action against Prashant is pending for 11 years. Have we taken any action?

Justice Mishra : So many thing we know in and out. But can we go to press for all that? No we cannot. We have to protect each other and the dignity of the institution.

Justice Mishra : We welcome fair criticism. But we cannot got to press to respond to criticism. As a judge, I have never gone to press. That is the ethic we have to observe.

Justice Mishra : You are part of the system. Your dignity is as good as a judge. If you destroy each other like this, people will not have trust in the system.

Justice Mishra : We are not going to pass sentence based on who is in his (Bhushan) support or who is against him.
