[Live Updates]Nirbhaya Case : Delhi HC Special Hearing For Stay Of Execution

Another lawyer for convicts making submissions after the Court dictated order.

Court says " Once a judge signs a judgement, he cannot touch that case again"

Breaking : Delhi HC dismisses late night petition filed by #NirbhayaCaseConvicts seeking stay of execution scheduled to take place tomorrow at 5.30 AM.

A bench of Justice Manmohan and Sanjeev Narula said there was no merit in the petition. 

Mehra says HC has given seriousness to the petition as it involves lives of four persons. The HC is giving due credence to value of human life

But the petition doesn't reflect the seriousness , he says.

Advocate Rahul Mehra now on the irregularities of Petition filed by Singh. Says not even a mention of any ground which substantiates that the trial court order is misplaced.

Justice Manmohan asks Mehra about the book "Black Warrant" which A P Singh referred to.

Mehra says that the contents of the book has no relevance at all in the proceedings.

Mehra adds that there is no substance to the petition at all.

Pointing to the irregularities apparent in Singh's petition, the Bench states that there is some procedure in law which cannot be done away with. "No prayer, nothin, yet you ask for stay", Justice Manmohan says

A P Singh requests for 2 days adjournment to produce some documents.

The bench tells that the petition might become "infructuous" by then.

While Advocate AP Singh tells the bench that he has been unable to provide relevant documents before the court owing to the #coronavirus outbreak, the bench says that this is no excuse. 

Some sort of paramountcy must be given to these death warrants. Lets no forget this is the fourth one, Manmohan J tells Singh as he insists on staying them.
