Farmers Protest : Supreme Court Proposes To Stay Implementation Of Farm Laws- Live Updates

AG says that the laws were made on the basis of recommendations of expert committee during last govt regarding the removal of restrictions in the APMC system and to allow direct marketing. Large committees have suggested.

CJ to Attorney General : Last time you said negotiations are going on. What negotiations are going on? We are disappointed.

CJI tells AG : We are extremely disappointed at the way government is handling all this (farmers protests). We don't know what consultative process you followed before the laws. Many states are up in rebellion.

Farmers Protests : Supreme Court is considering  a batch of petitions seeking removal of protesting farmers from Delhi borders. Another set of petitions challenging the 3 farm laws are also listed before the bench headed by the CJI.
