Justice T A Goud Appointed As Acting Chief Justice Of Tripura High Court

Justice T A Goud has been appointed as Acting Chief Justice of Tripura High Court with effect from February 23.

Chief Justice Jaswant Singh, who was recently appointed as Chief Justice, retires on February 22. 

Justice Goud is the senior-most puisne judge of Tripura High Court and earlier also has remained as Acting Chief Justice of the High Court.

Pertinently, the Supreme Court Collegium has already recommended Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, the seniormost Judge in the Jharkhand High Court, for the position of Chief Justice of Tripura High Court.

"The State of Jharkhand is unrepresented among the Chief Justices of the High Courts. The Collegium, therefore, resolves to recommend that upon the retirement of Mr. Justice Jaswant Singh, Mr. Justice Apresh Kumar Singh be appointed as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura," the SC Collegium said in the resolution dated February 07.
