Nine New Additional Judges Sworn In Bombay High Court; Strength Rises To 62

Last week, the central government had notified their appointment to the court after the Supreme Court had given its recommendation to elevate ten lawyers to the bench on 16^th February, 2022.

The lawyers who have been elevated to the High Court are –

1. Arif Saleh Doctor
2. Arun Ramnath Pednekar
3. Gauri Vinod Godse
4. Kamal Rashmi Khata
5. Kishore Chandrakant Sant
6. Rajesh Shantaram Patil
7. Sandeep Vishnupant Marne
8. Sharmila Uttamrao Deshmukh
9. Valmiki Menezes SA

Earlier, the Bombay High Court had 44 permanent judges and 9 additional judges, thus operating on a strength of 53.
