    The Full Court of the Madras High Court has resolved to dispense with printing of manual cause list in its Principal Seat, with effect from January 1, 2020. The cause list will be available online at http://clists.nic.in.

    The decision was made in light of the resolution in that behalf adopted in the All India Chief Justices' Conference in 2015.

    However, the high court will continue to supply printed copies of the cause list to Madras Bar Association, Madras High Court Advocates' Association, Law Association and Women Lawyers' Association.

    The press release issued by the Madras High Court read,

    "In an attempt to go green, the Madras High Court, in the recent Full Coutt meeting, resolved to discontinue the printing and distribution of manual cause lists initially in its Prinicpal Seat, through the Government Press, with effect from 01.01.2020 to the Advocate subscribers. However, two printed copies of the entire daily cause lists will be made available at the four bar associations, viz., the Madras Bar Association, the Madras High Court Advocates' Association, the Law Association and the Women Lawyers' Association."

    The high court has a mobile application namely "e-courts services", developed by the National Informatics Centre, for viewing the status, date-wise cause list, adjudication details, etc. the same may be downloaded by the Advocates/ litigants from the Play Store. Further, Advocates/ litigants may view case status, case history, cause list and judgments at the official high court website viz., http://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in.

    Notably, starting November 18, the Rajasthan High Court also stopped publishing manually printed cause lists.
