[Live-Updates From SC] Maharashtra Floor Test

Submissions to be made by all means parties within a period of 8 weeks as the issues regarding judicial review of Governor’s decision remains.

Supreme Court order in #MaharashtraPoliticalCrisis states that:

1. Floor test must be conducted by 5pm tomorrow (27 Nov).

2. It must be telecast live.

3. Protem speaker to be appointed to conduct the same.

4. It should not be by secret ballot. 

Floor test will be through open ballot which is telecast. Immediate appointment of protem speaker

Reading out the Order, J. Ramana - Constitutional morality needs to be promoted while finding a way to balance opposing claims. At the interim stage, these issues need to be addressed.

J. Ramana - There exists a dispute in the role of the judiciary. Institutional comity must exist without judicial interference.
