A letter has been written to the Chief Judge of the City Sessions and Metropolitan Magistrate Court by Bar Associations in Kolkata, urging the judges to refrain from passing adverse orders in the absence of advocates or litigants amid "scorching heat and humidity".

The letter has further prayed before the Chief Judge to show leniency from June 8 to June 10 since it has become unbearable to attend courts in adherence to full dress code, due to the heat wave.

Pursuant to a meeting held between all bar associations, such a letter was drafted.

"We hereby request your esteemed office and Ld. Companion Judges and also office of the Ld. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate and Ld. Companion Metropolitan Magistrates "Not to Pass Any Adverse Order" in the absence of any advocates and/ or litigants," the letter reads.
