    Established in 2014, the School of Law, Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun, has rapidly gained recognition as one of Uttarakhand's premier law institutions.     The Moot Court Competition

    Renowned as a premier national moot, the competition fosters intellectual rigor, legal excellence, and advocacy skills by engaging participants in pressing legal debates and legal excellence drawing participation from top law schools, offering students a platform to engage with pressing legal issues and develop essential advocacy skills. In each of the previous editions of the institution's moot court competitions, it has engaged in discussions on significant topics of relevance, including environmental challenges and constitutional law, the intersection of artificial intelligence and criminal liability, as well as refugee laws.

    This year's 4th Graphic Era Moot Court Competition, 2025 is centred on a high-profile criminal case involving charges of double murder. Participants will argue legal issues related to self-incrimination, double jeopardy, and liability under criminal and wildlife laws. The case also includes a claim of negligence against state authorities and Google. Competitors must analyse these aspects and present strong legal arguments before the court.

    Eligibility

    The Competition is open to bona-fide undergraduate students of recognized colleges, institutions and universities who are currently pursuing their Bachelor's Degree in Law i.e. 3-year LL.B. or 5-year Integrated law programme with all combinations on a regular basis.

    Team Composition

    • Each team shall comprise a maximum of three members and a minimum of two members. Under no condition shall a team consisting of more than 3 members or less than 2 members will be allowed to participate.
    • Three Member Team: Such Team shall designate two of its members as speakers; and shall designate one member, who has not been designated as a speaker, as a researcher. The team must, amongst its members, identify the speakers and the researcher at the time of registration itself.
    • Two Member Team: In the event, a team consists of two members then such a team shall designate both the members as speakers. Teams shall identify the speakers and researcher during registration. No extra member or observer shall be allowed. No swapping of designation of the members shall be allowed. Not more than one team shall be allowed to register and participate in the competition from the same College / Institution / University.

    How to Register?

    • The teams can provisionally register themselves using the link, click here. The teams are required to complete their provisional registration by 6th April, 2025 by 23:59 IST.
    • The final registration must be completed on or before 13th April, 2025 by payment of Rs.3,600/- per team along with a bona-fide letter from either their Moot Court Faculty Coordinator or Dean or Principal. The details of the participating team have to be sent to

    • Once the final registration is done Teams will get the confirmation email along with their Team Codes.
    • The confirmation of the names at the time of online registration shall be treated as final and no change of name shall be allowed thereafter, except if it is found to be necessary at the sole discretion of the Organizers.

    Fee Details

    A registration fee is mandatory, with two options: INR, 3600 and additional INR, 1200 for offline rounds which includes accommodation if opted. The registration fee is non-refundable and no claim for refund of fee shall be entertained.

    • Memorial Submission on 15th April, 2025 (online) along with the compendium.
    • Semi-Finals and Final Rounds: On 25th and 26th April, 2025 (Offline)
