Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, an independent think tank conducting legal research to improve laws for better governance, is launching a state office in Maharashtra on 29th June at 5.30 pm. The office will work on critical legal reforms to shape a modern Maharashtra.
Maharashtra is the second most populated state in the country and the largest contributor to the country's GDP - yet, like many other states, it was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, accounting for nearly one-third of country-wide cases. Keeping in mind Maharashtra's important position and the need for recognising the key role of State Governments in India's constitutional set up especially in light of the pandemic, the state office will be launched with a Briefing Book on Fifteen Suggested Legal Reforms for Maharashtra.
