    The Bombay High Court got five new judges today after the Central government cleared their names for being appointed as additional judges of the High Court.

    Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay administered the oath of office to Judge Designates - Nivedita Mehta, Prafulla Khubalkar, Ashwin Bhobe, Rohit Joshi and Advait Sethna.

    The oath ceremony was attended by all the sitting judges of the High Court and also a few of the former judges, apart from the family members of the newly appointed judges.

    The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their names for elevation on September 24.

    The Bombay High Court at present has 28 vacancies out of the sanctioned strength of 94 judges. With addition of these five judges, the total working strength of the Bombay High Court has become 71.
