Justice Krishna Murari, Judge, Supreme Court of India has given the following message for the book:
"I commend the effort made by the author to cover almost everything relating to arbitration in India in one publication. The first chapter of the book covers concisely an introduction to arbitration and how the law of arbitration in India has evolved over the last few decades. Part 2 provides a primer on the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 and provides landmark decisions passes by Indian courts on arbitration. This book not only covers the important concepts of arbitration, but also deals with interesting concepts like arbitration of art disputes, third party funding, sports arbitration, maritime arbitration. Moreover, practical tips on drafting in arbitration makes it an interesting read. A much-needed publication on arbitration which should be in the library of anyone wanting to learn various nuances (of) arbitration"
Reviewing the book, Prof. Albert Jan Van Den Berg, Partner, Hanotiau & van den Berg said, "Mr. Khan's commentary sets out to achieve the ambitious feat of enlightening the readers on "Everything you need to know about Arbitration in India". Through a detailed discourse on the development of Indian arbitration law and the practical aspects of arbitrating in India, an updated record of Indian court decisions, and an overview of the evolution and practice of niche areas of arbitration, the book is a remarkable achievement. The book's comprehensive coverage combined with its eloquent delivery makes it a valuable reference book for students and arbitration practitioners alike."
Audley Sheppard KC, Partner and Co-global Head of the International Arbitration practice, Clifford Chance commented, "Tariq Khan's treatise is a true tour de force. It not only sets the stage with an insightful history and detailed analysis of arbitration in India and the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, it also provides an essential handbook on the entire arbitral process and highlights key and emerging areas of arbitration. It is a must-read for anyone involved in an arbitration seated in India or an arbitration-related court proceeding there and is also an invaluable resource for comparative law purposes in other jurisdictions."
Prof. Janet Walker, CM, Charted Arbitrator said, "If you can read only one book on arbitration in India, you would do well to choose this one. Tariq Khan puts it all together in one volume with his astute commentary on every aspect of the field from the history of arbitration, to the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996, to the arbitral process and on to the many modern specialised forms of arbitration. In doing so, he shows why arbitration can no longer be described as an alternative form of dispute resolution and has, in fact, become the preferred method for commercial parties."
Gourab Banerji, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court said, "The author, one of the emerging breed of young specialist arbitration practitioners, has addressed fundamental concepts and features of arbitration, practical aspects, and esoteric subjects such as blockchain technology and investment treaty arbitration pithily. The breadth of the coverage is breath-taking. A masterly tour de force, this is a must-keep for any serious practitioner of arbitration."
Thomas R. Snider, Partner and Head of Arbitration, Al Tamimi & Company said, "This book offers a detailed panorama of the Indian arbitration landscape and provides practical guidance on how to conduct arbitrations in India. It is a must-read for anyone who is interested in understanding the law and practice of arbitration in India."
Dr. Christopher To, Charted Arbitrator and Barrister-at-Law said, "This book is a fascinating combination of emerging old and new concepts to make arbitration cost effective. It will be invaluable to local and international practitioners and parties and will also be a vital teaching tool to assist those in understanding the intricates of operating under the fast-paced arbitration environment that is emerging in India."
