Recently, the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court (virtually) inaugurated three Mediation Centres at the outlying stations of Barwani District namely Anjad, Rajpur and Khetiya. With this, the state of has 43 functional District Courts and Mediation Centres in 42 Tehsil Courts.

With the opening of these Centres in distant and remote areas, the Madhya Pradesh High Court seeks to promote more amicable means to dispute resolution and help in the reduction of litigation.

On September 26, the High Court Chief Justice, Ajay Kumar Mittal inaugurated the said three Mediation Centres through video conferencing.

The programme was also attended virtually by Executive Chairman of MP State Legal Services Authority, Justice Sanjay Yadav.

In May this year, the State got one ADR building at District Court Complex Dindori and 12 newly constructed Mediation Centres at Tehsil Level of District Ashoknagar, Balaghat, Bhind, Chhatarpur, Damoh, Gwalior, Hoshangabad, Jabalpur, Jhabua and Sagar.

Recently, the state was in news for successfully imparting 40 Hrs online Mediation Training to Advocates based in outlying stations where single judge is posted.

"One of the most effective dispute resolution methods is Mediation which renders a win-win solution with multiple benefits like procedural flexibility, saves time and money. It also has proved to help restore faith and trust between people. The success rate of dispute resolution through Mediation has increased expeditiously," a press release issued by the MPSLSA read.
