The International Arbitration and Mediation Centre, Hyderabad (IAMC) hosted a panel discussion on “Role of Arbitral Institutions & Financial Centres in fostering an Investor-Friendly Ecosystem – UAE and India Perspective” at the India – UAE Business Forum on May 29th. 

The panel featured Ms. Linda Fitz-Alan, Registrar & Chief Executive, ADGM Courts; Dr. Hassan Arab, Partner, Al Tamimi & Co.; Mr. Vikram Pooserla, Founder and Managing Partner, CV Law Chambers; Dr. Zeina Obeid, Partner, Obeid & Partners; Mr. Abhinav Bhushan, Director (Foreign Law), Drew & Napier, and was moderated by Mr. Tariq Khan, Registrar of IAMC, Hyderabad. The panel discussion took place at Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The panel discussed how technological innovations, such as the ADGM eCourts platform and the integration of blockchain technology, along with the evolution of arbitration practices in India and the UAE, have contributed to creating investor-friendly environments. They also discussed the initiatives taken to improve the efficiency of enforcing foreign arbitral awards. The panel highlighted the importance of sector-specific arbitration in addressing unique industry disputes and emphasized the need for collaboration between financial centres and arbitral institutions to establish a robust and secure business ecosystem.


At its inaugural ceremony, the India – UAE Business Forum witnessed the Attorney General of India, Shri. R. Venkataramani, who rendered the keynote address, where he emphasised the importance of robust legal frameworks for smooth capital movement. The Solicitor General of India, Shri. Tushar Mehta, in his address, highlighted the role of digitisation in supporting these reforms, which can help facilitate global capital movement.

The India – UAE Business Forum and Delegation was organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce, along with Lead Partners Green Day Motors & Traders DMCC, MZM Legal LLP, JSA Advocates and Solicitors, and Knowledge Partner Fox & Mandal.
