The Centre for Development of Intellectual Property and Research (CDIPR), Naovina Development of Intellectual Property and Research Foundation, announces the Round Table Discussion as part of the South Asian Global Intellectual Property Summit, 2024. Scheduled for 21st and 22nd December, 2024, this event aims to foster collaboration among nations in South Asia and beyond to strengthen intellectual property (IP) frameworks, address pressing challenges and explore innovative solutions for regional and global IP dynamics.
This Round Table Discussion is a two days virtual event that brings together leading policymakers, academicians, industry professionals, and IP experts from across South Asia to address the region's most pressing challenges in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The theme, “Bridging Borders: Strengthening Intellectual Property Frameworks for Innovation, Climate Resilience and Cultural Preservation in South Asia”, reflects the shared commitment to leveraging intellectual property for sustainable development, fostering innovation, protecting traditional knowledge and driving regional economic growth.
The South Asian Global Intellectual Property Summit, 2024, is a month-long event featuring hackathons, competitions, paper presentations, guest lectures, and workshops, attracting participation from 36 countries globally. The summit brings together thought leaders, legal experts, policymakers and researchers from South Asia and across the globe. It features a diverse lineup of programs, including hackathons, IP challenges, paper presentations, and the signature Guest Lecture Series. The Round Table Discussion, the summit's capstone event, will bring together policymakers, academicians, legal professionals, and industry leaders to deliberate on the theme: “Bridging Borders: Strengthening Intellectual Property Frameworks for Innovation, Climate Resilience, and Cultural Preservation in South Asia.”
This is the first-ever South Asian IP Summit, creating a virtual forum for multi-stakeholder dialogue on IP issues crucial to regional development.
