Sr. Adv. Ranjit Kumar, appearing for State of Bihar, informs the Bench that 28 lakh people have returned. 10 lakh people skill mapping has been done by the Bihar government in a step to provide for their employment.

Narsimha takes the bench through statistics of numbers of migrants who have been sent back.

“1664 #ShramikTrains organised, 21 lac 69 thousand people were transported back to their native places from here. Just imagine my lords, 5.5 lakh labourers brought from Delhi border.”

Sr. Adv. PS Narsimha for UP Govt, informs the Bench 104 special trains were organised and over 1 lakh migrants were transported back to UP from various parts of India. He further states that at no point of time was the UP Govt charging from the labourers.

ASG Jain, “Till May 31, 3,10,000 workers have gone back. We are assuming 2 lakh are left, as 6 lakh registered. But now that work has restarted, we are assuming about 10,000 workers left to go back.”

Sr. Adv. Maninder Singh, appearing for Gujarat, submits that no further inquiry is required at the moment, as out of 22 lakhs, 20.5 lakhs have been transported.
