A third-year student of National Law University, Jodhpur, was found dead near the rail track opposite the college campus on Monday morning. The body, though intact, bore some injury marks.
The deceased, Vikram Nagech from Delhi, had gone out for dinner with his college friends to an eatery right outside the university on Sunday evening. However, he refused to return to the campus with them around 10 pm, stating that he would come back later.
Vikram’s friends called him about 50 minutes later and he assured them that he would return soon. Subsequent to this phone call, there was no contact with him.
As per the administration of the university, the matter seems to be an accident; however, the post-mortem report will conclusively determine the reason for his death. According to Nagech’s batchmates, he was undergoing treatment for depression. Sohan Lal Sharma, the Registrar of the University, stated that Vikram had secured good marks in his previous semester, but was suffering from depression and used to sit on the railway tracks quite often
