School of Competition Law and Market Regulation has announced one day Advanced Course on Competition Law Investigations & Litigation on September 11, 2015.
Venue: Conference Room-II, India International Centre, New Delhi.
About the Course
Developments in competition law continue to influence business decisions in a significant manner. Breaches of competition law can result in reputational damage, and significant fines on both companies as well as senior executives. A large number of organisations has faced or is currently facing competition law scrutiny at one or more fora such as CCI, COMPAT, High Courts and Supreme Court level.
At CCI level, competition law proceedings entail wide range of investigation procedures both by CCI and DG office. In-house counsels and business executives lack clarity in terms of their rights and duties in the entire life cycle of a competition case involving breach/es of the Competition Act, 2002. Such lack of clarity has resulted in considerable confusion among entities which face competition law proceedings at a relevant competition law forum. The need of the hour is to understand the nuances to successfully take part in competition law proceedings. The course offers guidance to participating organisations about procedural and legal complexities of antitrust and merger matters.
Eligibility: The course is designed primarily for in-house counsels and senior business executives dealing with competition law matters.
