Singh: The Affidavit says that the different policy is not an issue because every State is willing to pay. That is not an answer. The money will come from public exchequer. This is something that has to be understood.

Sr. Adv. Vikas Singh appears for Bar Association: We have started vaccination for both the age groups. The problem which arose was that we wanted the doses to be given at 150, they were not willing to give that and we had to get it at a private rate of 600.
Justice Bhat: The only issue that we’re seeing is that vaccination policy. The dialogue will continue. If you change the policy, well.
SG: If it has to be changed for the better, the government will not oppose that.

Justice Chandrachud: The idea is not to criticise or pull down anybody. When the EAM went to the US and entered into the dialogue, it showed the importance of the situation.
SG: The PM has also interacted with many.

Justice Chandrachud: The purpose of this hearing is dialogic. The purpose is to create dialogues so that the voices of others can be heard.
Justice Chandrachud: Let me tell you from my experience as a Judge - the ability to say that you’re wrong is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength.
Justice Chandrachud: We make one appeal to you. Please make sure is your policy is flexible.
SG: There is no policy which is cast in stone. The situation is dynamic. This is our wisdom.
Arora: Today’s thing was into the vaccine, so I didn’t go into third wave.
Justice Chandrachud: We will take this next time.
SG: We have disturbed you more than we should have.
Justice Chandrachud: My health is subordinate to the welfare of the citizens.
Justice Chandrachud: We would also like the policy to be amended. We want an enforceable policy that can be applied across the country. The policy should be clear cut and dealing with issues. If new issues arrive, then it should be amended.
Justice Chandrachud: Absence of guidelines and policy will only lead to ad hoc decisions being taken across the country. You have to set a policy and formulate what should be done across the country.
