Plea Seeking Cancellation Of CLASS XII Board Examination: Supreme Court Hearing- Live Updates
Bench: States have taken a conscious decision. Situation in different States is different
Bench: what was the background and components of the decision, is what we wanted to see. Its not a question of exam alone, its question of health and safety of everybody! One has to see the ground reality.
Bench: Exams have to be held together, can’t be done in two sessions.
Bench: Give us the details, or we will have to cancel the exams
Nazki: Making sure that staff has been vaccinated.
Bench: Where will you get these rooms, how will arrangements be done, etc hasn’t been stated. You have stated on affidavit without any backup to support them
Bench to Andhra Pradesh Counsel: Merely saying we want to take exam is not enough. You’ve to take responsibility of students, staff, frontline workers.
Justice Maheshwari: Its not question of students, there will be support staff, invigilators etc.
Bench: If you have 34000 rooms you’ll need 34k supervisors. Where will you get this.
J Maheshwari: It appears no decision has been specifically taken. You can’t keep thing so uncertain, that’s not expected of the State.
Bench: You should have a decision and concrete plan. How can you play with lives of student
Justice Maheshwari: We wanted you to give concrete decision. You have stated ‘endeavour to tentatively hold exams’ You also know that means nothing. You can’t keep things tentative and uncertain like this
Nazki: I’ve been given to understand we have the rooms.
Bench: You have to show that on chart. And also if you had the information before filing the affidavit.
Bench to AP’s Counsel: Already a decision has been taken by you, we assume you already have that formula with you as to how will you divide students into rooms.
Nazki: We will try to have it earlier.
Bench: Your affidavit has said, students will be divided so not more than 15-18 students will be in one room. Have you worked out thy formula how you’ll have 34,634 rooms?
