After the technical glitches that were flagged by the candidates appearing for the online Paper-I (Practice and Procedure of the Supreme Court) of the Advocates-on-Record (AoR) Examination, the Supreme Court AOR Examination Branch has issued a clarification notice cancelling the online mode of exam which was held today.
The notice issued by Mr Devender Pal Walia, Registrar & Secretary, Board of Examiners, AoR Examination specified the following :
(a) the date for conducting Paper- I afresh will be soon notified;
(b) the pen and paper mode of exam is now made mandatory for all candidates (including those who had opted for online mode earlier) for the remaining papers scheduled on 11, 14 and 15 June 2024;
(c) duration of the examination papers for 11, 14, and 15 June 2024 is increased by one hour, making the exam time from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. for all candidates;
(d) The venue for the remaining papers is fixed as the Judges' Library on the ground floor of the Additional Building Complex of the Supreme Court of India
Over 120 candidates who appeared for the online mode of the exam today faced multiple technical and infrastructural challenges in completing the AOR exam held today from 11 AM - 2 P.M at Guru Hargobind Institute of Management & Technology, Anand Vihar, Delhi.
The Supreme Court AOR Association (SCAORA) had also furthered the grievances of the candidates to the Secretary-General, Supreme Court of India. Being "deeply disturbed and concerned" with the maladministration of the exam, the SCAORA has requested that its concerns be taken on 'highest priority' and be placed before CJI DY Chandrachud for providing an effective solution to the situation at hand.
