After Justice Sanjiv Khanna took charge as the Chief Justice of India, a new notification has been issued regarding the hearing of the cases in the Supreme Court.

As per this notification, regular hearing matters will not be listed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Instead, miscellaneous matters in which notice has been issued will be listed on these days. Bail matters and transfer petitions will also be listed.

Special bench or part-heard matters, which were earlier directed to be listed on these days, will be heard during the post-lunch session subject to the directions of the competent authority.

This arrangement will continue till further orders.

As per the system in Supreme Court, admission matters (miscellaneous matters) are generally listed on Mondays and Fridays. Tuesdays-Thursdays are for regular hearing matters, where final hearings take place. Also, miscellaneous matters in which notice has been issued are also listed as per the orders of the bench.
