[NLAT LIVE] Hearing On Plea Against NLSIU's NLAT2020 [LIve-Updates From Supreme Court]
Datar: I am only saying that I (the VC of NLSIU) am not associated with the NLAT at all.
Yesterday they wrote to me saying that I need to transfer the funds of Rs. 4 Crore.
Datar is addressing the bench on the issue of maintainability of the petition filed by Prof. Dr. VK Rao.
"The Governing body "resolved" on the decision to remove the VC of NLSIU from the Consortium," says Datar.
Datar reads out the prayers in the plea of petitioner Prof. (Dr.) V.K Rao.
Datar: Will also go into locus standi.
Justice Bhushan: They have locus standi.
Datar: This should have been challenged by the CLAT itself.
The petitioner is a former VC.
Justice Bhushan: Large number of students deprived of the exam, as large number of students registered for CLAT and NLSIU is number 1, no doubt about that. Is there a violation under Article 14? Please also address us on that as well.
Datar: I will begin my submission on Role of EC and Academic Council, on whether NLSIU being a member of the Consortium could have conducted the exam & nature of exam.
Hearing commences.
Senior Adv. Gopal Sankaranarayan: Want to make a correction in the submission I made yesterday...
