SC is hearing pleas seeking restoration of 4G internet connectivity in #JammuAndKashmir.
Last week, Govt. of J&K filed its reply, stating internet can be used to propagate "modern" terrorism and access to internet was not a fundamental right.

SG asks for time to file judgments for legal argument.
Bench: "We will pass orders"
Senior Adv. Salma Khurshid :
"There is still the option to block internet sites which are problematic. The centre blocks pornographic sites. Why not block the sites which can be misused?"
"At least on a trial basis open up the faster internet speeds. See how it works. Entire Jammu is peaceful. Large parts of Kashmir are peaceful. But if you lock the well there is be problem." Ahmadi
"If they can misuse 4G speed then they can also misuse 2 G speed [in #JammuAndKashmir ]. There has to be nexus between internet speed and terrorist act. Terror acts happening even with a 2G network." - Ahmadi
"There is inherent contradiction in the Govt's stand. Downloading of information is being made a ground for denial of access. The affidavit says if you allow 4G network then the nefarious persons will access the Internet and transmit anti national information...." Ahmadi
Senior Advocate Huzefa Ahmadi for Petitioner(s), justifying need for 4G in #JammuAndKashmir:
"Secondary student population of is at a greater handicap. They are competing with students of rest of India. There is Lack of access to education that rest of the country is getting"
Further, Senior Advocate Huzefa Ahmadi urges in rejoinder arguments,
"I've repeatedly pointed out why 2G network is not enough for an interactive class. It is a matter of elementary knowledge that 2G can't be used for video."
"These order [imposing restrictions on internet speed in #JammuAndKashmir] are in contempt of the Anuradha Bhasin judgement"
- Ahmadi submits
"Anuradha Bhasin judgment had said that there must be periodic review and orders [of restrictions] must be reviewed within 1 week. There are no orders of the review committee which have been placed on record."
- Ahmadi rejoins to arguments by Govt.
Senior Advocate Huzefa Ahmadi: "The Court's orders in Anuradha Bhasin judgment on review committee [for purposes of internet restrictions in #jammuandkashmir] has not been followed."
