Gujarat Riots- Zakia Jafri's Plea Against Clean Chit To Narendra Modi- LIVE UPDATES From Supreme Court
Rohatgi: I have summed up in the note. Kindly see the index. The first is a letter issued by PRO telling public at large that if anyone wants to depose they can come to SIT.
Bench: This is at 2008?
Bench: This quotation is from Commission or HC judgment?
Rohatgi: Commission. The recommendation of the Commission is from 225 of the report.
Rohatgi: He should have filed in first affidavit. Credibility is questionable, one allegation found to be false. Every part of his(Shreekumar) report is junked.
Rohatgi: Now, RB Shreekumar. SIT said this man filed several affidavits. First he did not say anything. In 3rd report after suppression he said. Now, see what the Commission said.
Bench: If material was before then perhaps. Your report precedes Commission Report.
Rohatgi: Much before.
Bench: The Commission had not commented on the report of Tribunal. It said the material was not present before the Citizens Tribunal.
Rohatgi: Clear finding that Sharma was evasive and unreliable. In polite words Citizen Tribunal not accpetable.
Rohatgi: 18.11.2014 - Date of Nanavati. Tabled in Assembly in Dec, 2019
Mr. Rohatgi reading the finding of Commission of Rahul Sharma. It found that Rahul Sharma was not telling the truth with regard to possession of original CDs. Original CDs not available, the data provided by him not reliable and cannot be accepted.
Rohatgi: See about Mr. Sharma. We discounted his evidence. Now I’ll show what the Commission says. It will sound as repetition because it is same as what SIT found.
Bench: Date of Commission’s report?
Rohatgi: I’ll give you, your lordship. It’s 3000 pg long report, running in 9 vol.
Rohatgi: Commission found no substance regarding allegation of parading.
