Supreme Court Bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan to hear three fresh petitions seeking postponement of NEET2020
The bench says it is not inclined.
Petitions dismissed.
Datar urges the Court to pass a direction that if a good percentage of students are not able to exam, let the authority be directed to give them one more chance.
Advocate Mathews J Nedumpara starts to make submissions.
The bench points out that his petition is not listed before the court and hence the court cannot hear him.
Alam repeats that he is not asking for deferment of exam but a direction for strict compliance of guidelines.
"A slight nudge from your lordships will go a long way", Shoeb Alam submits.
#NEET2020
Alam submits that a number of violations of the MHA guidelines took place during the conduct of JEE exams from September 1-6.
Alam argues that the SOP applies to all exams.
Alam urges the Court to pass a direction that the admit card of students in containment zones be treated as curfew pass to ensure unobstructed travel for them to exam centres.
Justice Bhushan says that the said SOP refers to UGC exams and cannot apply to NEET.
Alam refers to the SOP of the MHA issued on September 2 which says that examinees who cannot take exams due to their presence in containment zones should be given option to take exams via alternate means.
Adv Shoeb Alam, appearing in item no.17, submits that he is not seeking deferment of exam, but is seeking the strict compliance of the central guidelines and SOP for the conduct of exam.
Datar urges the Court to direct the NTA to give one more chance to students who may find it difficult to take #NEET exam on account of pandemic restrictions.
