Bhushan: This case goes to the very roots of our democracy. I'm glad the court has finally fixed it for hearing. I have been in the PIL space for many years but have never seen this kind of public interest involved in any other PIL.

CJI: You can cut it down to two hours.

Bhushan: I'll try.
