Tankha: The most important thing is that if we don’t get admission in colleges after the compartment exams are done, then our entire year gets wasted.
Tankha: One, the students are saying that with the pandemic, would it be safe to hold the exam for lakhs of people ? This has been argued already in UGC, NEET etc.
Court: You can say that the argument is no longer res integra.
Tankha: The problem is two-fold. The exams were notified after the Court issued notice. And now they’re saying that they will hold it from September 24.
Court: We have not issued notice yet.
Tankha: Usually compartment exams are held before college admissions take place.
Tankha brings the Court’s attention to the Affidavit of the Respondent.
Tankha: It’s understandable that CBSE could not hold examinations in the beginning due to COVID. Then there was a hybrid variety of exams and then results were declared. Because of that, a lot of people were facing compartment exams.
