'You Think The Chair Is For Sirs?" : Justice Rekha Palli To Lawyer Who Addressed Her As 'Sir'?

An interesting exchange happened in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday when a lawyer addressed Justice Rekha Palli as "sir".

When the lawyer kept on addressing the judge as "sir", Justice Palli intervened to say "I am not Sir. I hope you can make that out".

"Sorry, it's because of the Chair you are sitting in", the lawyer responded.

"Then that's even worse if after all this time you think that the Chair is for Sirs. If the younger members don't stop differentiating, then what hope do we have for the future?", Justice Palli replied.
