One of the founding goals of the Harvard US-India Initiative, that continues to inform most of the work that we do, is fostering robust and uninhibited dialogue on the key social, economic and political challenges that India faces today.
The HUII conference that we conduct each year furthers that goal in a significant way.
HUII Blog not only being a platform for us to meaningfully engage with the key challenges that India today confronts, but also for discussing, interrogating and throwing into sharp focus the first principles and underlying assumptions that shape public discourse on these issues in India.
You can check out HUII blog here: http://www.harvardusindiainitiative.com/blog
Articles that we have published on the Blog in the past grapple with a diverse set of issues, from censorship of speech to Bihar's 2015 election; from the development-environment dichotomy to the need to create an entrepreneurship ecosystem.
While we are open to publishing articles that deal with any issue that is of contemporary relevance to India, we earnestly believe that we cannot lose sight of the important while exclusively focusing on the urgent, so we would especially like to publish pieces that explore new perspectives and engage with topics that typically receive limited public attention.
Articles should typically not exceed 1000 words.
Out of all the articles that we receive in the next 3 months, we will be selecting the top 3 articles, the authors of which will be recognized and appropriately awarded during the closing ceremony at the HUII Conference in Mumbai on 7th and 8th January, 2017.
Please submit your articles, along with a brief description of your educational background, to blog@harvardusindiainitiative.com.
