Pandey: Women are historically oppressed. Un vanchit, peerit maahilaayon ke saath rajneeti kaisi? When the prime minister himself is trying to empower women, then, playing politics, or questioning his intention is not right.

MDMK MP Vaiko: I rise to support the bill. But 15-year period after which women's reservation is proposed to be stopped should be extended. Delimitation should be undertaken at the earliest, provisions should be made for OBC women.
CPIM MP Elamaram Kareem: They say sabka saath sabka vikaas, but the BJP govt has one single person from largest minority in the country in the cabinet. Where is the sabka saath sabka vikaas? This is their attitude.
RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha: In this country, there might be nothing in a name, but everything is in a surname. Some of our surnames have given us privilege, while others do not have that. This 33% should not affect existing quotas.
