Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal moves motion to pass the bill.
VP Dhankar: The question is - that the bill further to amend the Constitution of India as passed by Lok Sabha be passed.

Clause 6 is accepted to be a part of the bill. VP Jagdeep Dhankar announces -
"Subject to correction, 'ayes': 213, 'nos': 0, abstention: 0. Clause 6 is adopted."
Clause 4 is accepted to be a part of the bill. VP Jagdeep Dhankar announces -
"Subject to correction, 'ayes': 214, 'nos': 0, abstention: 0. Clause 4 is adopted."
Clause 3 is accepted to be a part of the bill. VP Jagdeep Dhankar announces -
"Subject to correction, 'ayes': 213, 'nos': 1, abstention: 0. Clause 3 is adopted."
Clause 2 is accepted to be a part of the bill. VP Jagdeep Dhankar announces -
"Subject to correction, I'm happy to announce, 'ayes': 214, 'nos': 0, abstention: 0. Clause 2 is adopted."
Member points out that a vote is not accounted for, chairman says he will find out. "That's why I said, subject to correction."
Rajya Sabha unanimously passes the motion to consider the Women's Reservation Bill. All 215 members present supported the motion to consider the bill.
House is now considering the Bill clause-by-clause (Bill has not been passed yet).
Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar announces -
"Hon'ble Members, subject to correction - 'ayes' are 215 in number, 'nos' : 0, abstention: 0. The motion is adopted. A historic achievement. Congratulations! We will now take up clause-by-clause consideration.
Rajya Sabha unanimously passes the motion to consider the Bill. All 215 members present supported the motion to consider the bill.
