[LIVE UPDATES] Bombay HC Hearing On Kangana Ranaut's Plea Against Building Demolition

The hearing for the day ends. The bench will continue hearing on Monday (Sep 28) at 11 AM.

'We want to know if the demolition has taken place in those cases with the same swiftness?', Justice Kathawalla asks BMC's lawyer Aspi Chinoy.

Justice Kathawalla asks BMC lawyer (Chinoy) about some other entries in the detection register and asks when demolition was carried out with respect to them.

Chinoy says he will respond on that.

There is non-compliance of the circular. There is no sketch, no photographs, no entry in the detection register : Saraf for Kangana Ranaut

Saraf refers to BMC circular and says :

1. There should be an entry in the detection register on the same day when an unauthorized construction is detected.

2. They have to get photographs of the site.

3. Panchnama to be prepared of the materials, machinery etc.

Justice Kathawalla remarks in jest whether the demolition happened in the way Advocate Thorat's client (Sanjay Raut) wanted

The entire house was ransacked. Nothing remains. 80-85% structure removed : Saraf says.

Chinoy (BMC lawyer) says that the demolished portions were not in the plan.

Advocate Rizwan Siddique, Kangana's lawyer, submits that the BMC refused to accept the copy of the writ petition. He submits that he had told them that the matter was sub-judice. But they did not listen and locked themselves inside the bungalow, he adds.

Justice R I Chagla asks when the demolition started.

Saraf replies it started around 10.35 AM and it went on till the Court's order was given.

Saraf says none of the photographs show any erection or alteration work going on.

He says that some touch-up work to prevent leakage etc had taken place and there was no erection or structural alteration.
