"We Will Protects The Farmers' Land"- Supreme Court- Hearing On Farm Laws And Farmers Protest: Live-Updates
Attorney General : We have said that Khalistanis have infiltrated into the protests.
CJI now turns to AG : Narasimha has made an allegation that there is a banned organization which is helping the protests. Will you confirm this?
PS Narasimha, for one of the intervenors supporting the farm laws, submits that these kind of protests can be "dangerous".
Groups like "Sikhs for Justice" are involved in the protests, he submits.
CJI : Has any organization made an application for permission for protests in Delhi?
Vikas Singh : I will check.
Vikas Singh submits that there should be guidelines for grant of permission for protests. There are no guidelines now, he says.
CJI : We will say in the order that farmers may apply for permission to the Delhi police commissioner for protests at Ram Lila Maidan or other locations.
Vikas Singh suggests 'Ram lila maidan' - which is a traditional place for protests.
He adds that even Boat Club area can be considered.
Sr Adv Vikas Singh submits that the farmers need a prominent place for protest for visibility. Otherwise, there will be no meaning for the protests.
Salve : Two things are causing concern - 1) Whether MSPs will be dismantled. 2)Whether lands will be sold.
The AG and SG can assure that these concerns are unfounded. MSPs will not be dismantled and no lands will be sold off.
Salve regarding Sharma's apprehensions of land being sold : There is no basis for that. Laws do not allow that.
CJI : We will only add a word that nothing of that sort will happen.
Salve : AG can assure that such a thing is not sanctioned by law.
