The Telangana High Court has suo moto taken up a Public Interest Litigation on the basis of a letter addressed to it by a 6th grade student from Joseph Public School praying that the Court may direct for the Sai Yuva Bar, which is allegedly running in a residential colony and creating substantial nuisance, to be relocated.
The matter was taken up by Chief Justice Alok Aradhe on Wednesday and placed before the division bench also comprising Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti.
In the letter, Vaishnavi stated that the bar was running in the middle of their colony. She stated that multiple reputed schools and colleges were functioning in their colony, and the Bar was running just 70 meters away from one of the schools.
She also brought to the notice of the Court, that a new Lord Shiva Temple was being constructed in the colony which was shockingly only 50 meters away from the Bar. She stated that people had started avoiding the temple not wanting to cross the bar.
The letter further disclosed that the bar was playing loud music which went on till late in the night/ early in the morning causing serious disturbance to the old age home residents living nearby.
Apart from this, she stated that the bar raised safety concerns as children were out attending coaching classes in the evening and felt uneasy crossing the bar in the dark. Additionally, the elders of the colony have stopped coming out for evening strolls fearing the atmosphere created by the bar.
Thus, it was prayed that the Court direct for the relocation of the bar to an area not so densely covered by residential houses and educational institutions.
