The University of Minnesota won the Best Team Award at the DM Harish Memorial Government Law College International Moot Court Competition held at Churchgate Convocation Hall of Mumbai University on Sunday evening. National Law University, Jodhpur won the Second Best Team Award.
The final round was presided over by a bench of judges of the Bombay High Court, Justice GS Patel, Justice PD Naik, Justice MS Karnik, Justice BH Dangre and Justice RI Chagla.
The case study of the competition explored various aspects of international relations, from treatment of foreign prisoners to unilateral economic sanctions, providing a holistic approach to the concept of state responsibility.
The DM Harish Foundation, in association with the Moot Court Association of Government Law College, Mumbai, organizes the D.M. Harish Memorial Government Law College International Moot Court Competition every year.
Teams from Universities / Colleges from all over the world participate in this competition. Apart from International Universities, premier Indian Law Colleges/Universities are invited. This year, Duke University, University of Minnesota, University of Northumbria, Queen Mary University of London, Nepal Law Campus and Sri Lanka Law College were the participating International Teams.
The four teams for the semi-final rounds were National Law University, Jodhpur, School of Law, Christ University, Bengaluru, School of Law, University of Minnesota and The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) .
