The Student Bar Council of National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) has released a statement addressing an incident of suicide by one of its students. Notably, this is the third such incident to have occurred in the past three months.

"The Student Bar Council is committed to standing by the student body during these trying times and ensuring your concerns are heard and acted upon. We are working closely with the administration to address the concerns of the student body," the press release reads.

The student council also issued a note of caution to the media as well as alumni to ensure that any publication about the incident is done in a sensitive manner, after being verified, as it remained a testing time for the entire student body.

"We must create an environment where everyone feels supported, included, and heard. We request the members of NLU Delhi community to support each other. Let us come together to provide comfort and solidarity to one another. We encourage anyone struggling during this time to reach out for support," the student council concluded in an appeal to the general body of the university.
