Supreme Court tto hear the petitions challenging the appointment of L Victoria Gowri as Madras HC judge at 9.15 AM

A bench headed by Chief Justice Chandrachud will hear the petitions. 

On Monday, Senior Advocate Raju Ramachandran had mentioned the matter for urgent listing. Agreeing to list the matter tomorrow, CJI DY Chandrachud disclosed that the Supreme Court collegium has taken cognizance of the complaints about Gowri, which came to its notice after the recommendation was made.

Grover : Issue is whether these factors were known.

Anand Grover : And the collegium process, was not without full knowledge. There was no proper consultative process. It is possible reports of IB did not indicate her articles. To that extent, there can be an enquiry.

Anand Grover : We are not on the political views. The problem is with her views expressed, which are so extreme, that they make it ex-facie evident that she is unfit to take oath as a judge.
