In the backdrop of recent incidents of communal violence during Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti processions in different states of the country, three petitions have been filed before the Supreme Court of India seeking different reliefs including a court monitored investigation or transfer of probe to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Two PIL's have been filed by Advocate Vishal Tiwari and Advocate Vineet Jindal respectively, and a letter petition has been filed by Advocate Amritpal Singh Khalsa.

Constitution of Judicial Enquiry Commission To Inquire Into Clashes, Inquiry Into "bull dozer justice" by States: PIL by Advocate Vishal Tiwari 

Advocate Vishal Tiwari has filed a PIL seeking directions to set up a Judicial Enquiry Commission under the Chairmanship of a Former Chief Justice of India to enquire into the Religious clashes took place in Rajasthan, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat on the Occasion of Ramnavmi and Ramzan.

The petitioner has also sought directions for setting up a Judicial Enquiry Commission under the Chairman of Former Chief Justice of India to enquire into the arbitrary action of "bull dozer justice" in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.

"Such actions are absolutely discriminatory and does not fit into the notion of democracy and rule of law. The violation of such individuals are violated under right to life and equality under Article 14 and 21 of the Constitution." the petitioner has argued

Events Indicate Involvement Of Terror Funding With Possible Links Of ISIS & Other Anti National Organisations To Target Hindus: PIL by Advocate Vineet Jindal

Advocate Vineet Jindal has filed a PIL seeking directions to transfer to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the investigation of all cases of the communal clashes which broke out different states of the country on Hanuman Jayanti and Ram Navami including the clashes in Jahangir Puri in Delhi and in states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh and in JNU campus.

The petitioner has argued that the series of events across the country in seven different states indicate the involvement of terror funding with possible links of ISIS and other anti national and international organizations to target Hindus across the country.

The petition has argued that on the day of Hanumaan Jyanti and Ram Navami, the devotees were targeted with gun shots and stone pelted which injured the devotees in the procession in several states leading to communal tension.

"The acts of violence attacking the devotees during procession by Firing and stone pelting and vandalizing vehicles creating communal tension is a threat to the sovereignty of the country and instigate the Hindu community to retaliate as religion forms the essence of the values of the community." the petition has stated

 Letter Petition By Advocate Amritpal Singh

The Letter petition by Advocate Amritpal Singh has urged the court to take suo-moto cognizance in Jahangirpuri Riots and institute a court monitored investigation.

The petitioner says that from impartial media reports, it has emerged that few armed members, who were part of the Hanuman Jayanti Shobha Yatra procession entered mosque and installed saffron flag, and what followed was stone pelting by both the communities. In this entire incident, 7 to 8 Delhi Police Personnel and civilians were severely injured and damage to private property was fait acompli.

The petitioner has contended that Delhi Police investigation so far, has been partial, communal and is directly shielding preparators of the riots.
