Supreme Court Invites Applications For Position Of Law Clerk-Cum-Research Associates

The Supreme Court on January 10 issued a recruitment notice inviting online applications for the position of Law Clerk-cum-Research Associates (LCRA) on short-term contractual assignment on a consolidated remuneration of ₹80,000/- per month for the assignment term 2025-2026.

The Apex Court's Recruitment Cell issued the public advertisement " in terms of “Scheme of Engaging Law Clerk cum-Research Associates on Short-Term Contractual Assignment in the Supreme Court of India- January 2024” for preparation of a panel of approximately 90 candidates for engagement as Law Clerk-cum-Research Associates in the Supreme Court of India purely on contractual assignment initially on a consolidated remuneration of ₹80,000/- per month for the assignment term 2025-2026." 

The prescribed age limit for the post of LCRA is a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 32 years as of 7.02.2025. The Candidates applying must either be Law Graduates having Bachelor's Degree in Law (including Integrated Degree Course in Law) from any Law School/College/University recognised by the Bar Council of India or can be studying in final year of the 5 year or 3 year Law Course subject to furnishing proof of acquiring Law qualification. 

The Candidates shall undergo a detailed selection procedure in three phases- Part I- Multiple Choice Based Questions, testing the candidates' ability to understand and apply the law, and comprehension skills; Part II- Subjective Written Examination, covering writing and analytical skills; Part III- Interview. 

Important Dates And How To Apply:  

Eligible candidates are required to apply online for which the link will be provided through the Supreme Court website, www.sci.gov.in. The application will be accepted through online registration only which is to start from 14.01.2025.

Candidates will be required to pay the Application/Test Fee of ₹500/- plus bank charges, if applicable, through online mode only. The fee shall not be accepted in any other form. No postal application shall be accepted. The fee shall be paid online through the Payment Gateway provided by UCO Bank.

The starting date for online registration of application is 14.01.2025 and the last date thereof is 07.02.2025 at 23:55 Hours.

Written Examination in connection with engagement as Law Clerk-cum Research Associate to be held on 09.03.2025. 

Model Answer Keys will be uploaded on the website at 12:00 Noon on 10.03.2025 and will be available till 11:59 p.m. on 11.03.2025, for inviting online objections, if any, from the candidates relating to Part-I Multiple Choice Questions subject to payment of charges @ ₹100/- per question which will be refunded to the candidate if the objection is found to be valid.
