Supreme Court To Conduct Advocate-on-Record Examination For Year 2021 From June 8th-11th

Supreme Court of India has on Friday notified that the Advocates-on-Record examination 2021 will be held in the Supreme Court Premises on 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th June, 2021.

The notification issued on 26th Match has stated that all Advocates who complete one year's continuous training on or before 30th April, 2021 will be eligible to appear for the aforesaid examination.

The applications of advocates who wish to appear for the exam have to reach the Secretary, Board of Examiners, by 26th April, 2021. The application forms may be obtained from the office of the Secretary on any working day during office hours.

The candidates have been advised to strictly adhere to the advisory and guidelines issued by the Government of India and the Registry from time to time to contain spread of COVID- 19 pandemic and ensure compliance.

Supreme Court had last year decided to cancel Advocates-on-Record Examination 2020 in the wake of spike in COVID19 cases in Delhi and to postpone the same to June 2021.

The Additional Registrar, Recruitment Cell of the Supreme Court had sent a letter to the Supreme Court Bar Association informing about the decision.

The letter had said :

"Considering the rising cases of COVID-19 pandemic in Delhi, the competent authority has directed that the Advocates-on-Record Examination 2020 will not be conducted this year and the same may be conducted in the month of June 2021. You are therefore requested to bring the contents of this communication to the notice of all concerned".
