The Supreme Court today (August 9) was 'star-studded' with the presence of Actor and Producer Aamir Khan who made a special appearance in the CJI's Court.  

The movie "Laapataa Ladies", produced by Khan, which is based on the theme of gender equality, will be screened today evening in the Supreme Court auditorium for judges and the members of the Registry. Khan and Kiran Rao (director of the movie) will attend the screening and have an interaction with the audience.

The CJI in his warm welcome address for Khan mentioned how he requested the Actor to experience the court proceedings in person. 

"I don't want a stampede in the Court, we welcome a very special guest of the Supreme Court of India...I said why don't you drop into the court and see the proceedings in real life" CJI Chandrachud said.

Attorney General R Venkataramani appearing in one of the matters also remarked how the Chief's Court has become 'Star-Studded' today. 

"It's a star-studded court today!" AG expressed in a lighter vein. 

Khan was seen sitting in the front row of the Court watching the proceedings.
