Special Benches For Criminal Appeals, Land Acquisition, Motor Accident & Tax Matters In Supreme Court From Next Week : CJI DY Chandrachud

Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on Wednesday said that the Supreme Court will have specialised benches for hearing criminal appeals, land acquisition cases, motor accident claims and tax matters from next week.

"From next week there would be Special Benches for old criminal appeals, direct and indirect tax matters, land acquisition matters and motor accidents claims tribunal matters", CJI Chandrachud said when a counsel was mentioning a case for urgent listing. The CJI told the counsel to mention the matter before the special bench next week.

"If I am not mistaken, J. Surya Kant's Bench will be hearing land acquisition matter", CJI said.
