Supreme Court Lawyer Murdered In NOIDA; SCBA Writes To UP CM For Strong Measures [Read Letter]

Advocate Kuljeet Kaur, a Supreme Court lawyer has been found murdered in NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh.

Advocate Kaur's body was found inside her house in Noida's sector 31 on Tuesday. She was the wife of a retired Army officer. 

Strongly condemning the murder of a Supreme Court Advocate Kuljeet Kaur, the Supreme Court Bar Association has written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath seeking appropriate measures to protect the lives and properties of Advocates in the State.

This murder exposes the serious slackness in law and order situation in NOIDA, Honourary Secretary of the SCBA said in the letter. It reads:

It is less than a month since Ms. Darvesh Yadav, First Woman Chairman, Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh was murdered in the Bar Association of Agra. It is high time that the state of UP should take serious and drastic measures to control the deteriorating law and order situation. 

The letter also seeks expeditious investigation in the matter.

This has happened within weeks of the shocking murder of Darvesh Yadav, the first female president of UP Bar Council, within the premises of a Court in Agra. Yadav was shot dead by a lawyer colleague, who also fired at himself after the attack. The attacker, Manish Sharma, succumbed to the injuries two weeks later.

Last March, a lawyer was shot dead in a court campus in Basti district in UP.
