The bench comprising the Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Anirudha Bose granted extension of time by one year or till the process of fresh appointment is completed, whichever is earlier.
Before his appointment as NCDRC Judicial member, Justice Jain served as a Judge of Delhi High Court.
He entered Delhi Judicial Service on 20.05.1977, securing first rank. He started his judicial career as Metropolitan Magistrate, Civil Judge and Additional Rent Controller. He was later promoted to Higher Judicial Service and worked as Additional District & Sessions Judge, Designated Judge under TADA (P) Act, 1987 and Special Judge (CBI). He also worked as Secretary General, Supreme Court of India from 1.11.2005 to 13.5.2009.
