In Muzaffarpur shelter home case, a Supreme Court bench led by Justice N V Ramana on Thursday allowed TISS field action project Koshish to interact with the victims of the shelter home abuse case for their rehabilitation.

The bench,also comprising justices M Shantanagoudar and Ajay Rastogi, asked Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) to file rehabilitation plan of victims within four weeks.

Further, the Bench said victims can't be released from government care until rehabilitation plan is in place.

Meanwhile, Additional Silicitor General (ASG) Pinky Anand, representing Centre, told the bench that the government needs 4 to 6 months to finalise the National Child Protection Policy and it has received more than 250 suggestions to its draft policy from stakeholders.

Advocate Vrinda Grover, appearing for TISS, said ideal situation would be that the girls should be with their families.

Main task is to look into the well-being of the victims.These children are now in very vulnerable situation.

Senior Advocate HS Phoolka appeared for petitioner Sampurna Behra, Advocate Aparna Bhat appeared as Amicus Curiae in the case.
