Plea To Cancel NEET-UG 24 : Paper Leak Happened Before May 4th, Says CJI; Live Updates From Supreme Court [July 22]
CJI : Out of 61, 44 are those who got grace marks.
Hegde :For two options for one questions. That also means those 44 got marks for getting 179 questions right. That is also a high figure.
Hegde : Can we say everybody got marks which they were fairly entitled to?A competitive exam turning out 61 toppers cannot be trusted.
Hegde : CBI investigation is not confined to Patna, it is coverning multiple states. The investigator has not come to any conclusion that it was a localised leak.
Hegde : NEET is also used as a qualification. If you are qualified for NEET, you are not just qualified for govt seats. Many foreign countries also accept NEET. So 164 cut-off, which turns to about 13 lakhs, have all of them been judged with a fair standard?#SupremeCourt #NEET
Sr Adv Hegde : Admittedly there has been a leak from Hazaribagh. It was caught at Patna. We do not know today where all it leaked. Investigation reports say some of the messages went to about 100 people.
Hegde : We do not know about the extent of the leak. Timing of the leak, there is some certainty that it did not happen on the morning of 5th. It happened at least on the night of May 4th or prior to that.
Hooda : If this Court is not considering Re-NEET, at least qualified people should be asked to re-take the exam, which will be about 13 lakh people.
Hooda : There is a complete systemic failure - 1. There is no address verification. 2. No CCTV camera monitoring. This is substantiated by what their own affidavit says regarding Sawai Madahvpur. 3..
CJI : 5 minutes are over. You can make bullet points in 30 seconds
Hooda : If the paper was available on 4th, the leak has happened prior to 4th or even 3rd.
Bench resumes hearing.
Hooda : In so far as leak is concerned, Sanjeev Mukhya is a gangster, who is yet to be arrested. Solvers were taken from Rajasthan. Dissemination was through WhatsApp. It is not possible that the leak is confined to Patna.
