There will not be any postponement for NEET 2020 and Joint Entrance Examination this year, reported the NDTV quoting government sources of Union Ministry of Human Resource Development.

This fresh development has come amidst a huge social media campaign by students to postpone NEET-JEE. Earlier in the day, Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy had written to the Prime Minister seeking his intervention to postpone the exams in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases.

On Monday, the Supreme Court had dismissed a petition seeking postponement of the exams after observing that it will 'put the career of students in peril'.

'Life should move on even in COVID-19 times. Can we just stop exams? We should move on', Justice Arun Mishra, the presiding judge of the bench, said while dismissing the petitions.

The JEE (Main) exam is scheduled to be held between September 1 and September 6. The NEET exam has been pencilled in for September 13.
