Objectives – To prepare the student for the real world of professional advocacy and litigation and give her a distinct lead in litigation work.
Outcome – The student, by undertaking practical exercises, will gain the skill of drafting clear, concise and comprehensive issues and propositions for research and adjudication, which would give her a head-start in litigation practice.
Most courses that follow a theoretical objective based on specific substantive statutory law do not prepare the student for the practical comprehension of competing legal and factual issues that come up in the real world. Most students learn this skill only on-the-job.
This course would equip them to anticipate and formulate legal issues even as students grasp the facts of a case. Such comprehension enables them to draft pleadings, evolve a trial plan as they could determine the kind of evidence needed and eventually prepare cogent arguments.
This module will help students to become aware of different factual and legal issues that inhere in civil cases, and empower them to frame legal issues that arise from the factual matrix of any given case for research and adjudication.
